On The Rocks Massages

Hi, I'm Kate

Your sport's massage therapist

I was always interested in anatomy, biology and how the human body works, but to be honest becoming a massage therapist was never on my career list.

I signed up for a course on sports massage while I was studying to become a Geography and PE teacher at the University of South Bohemia in Czech. Shortly after receiving my Teaching Degree in 2008, I moved temporarily to Canada and through many coincidences I eventually landed on Vancouver Island where I got my first job as a masseuse.

Since then I have upgraded my skills by taking many other courses and workshops (Hot stones massage, Hawaiian lomi lomi massage, Cupping, Gua Sha, Indian head massage, Reflexology, Dorn method, Breuss massage, and Manual lymphatic drainage.

I truly believe that massage is a very powerful tool to improve our health and well-being, both physically and mentally.

When I’m not working, I like spending time outdoors in the mountains with or without the snow, and under or on the water. I also enjoy teasing my husband and son - I mean - I enjoy to spend time with my family.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage is offering a host of benefits for climbers, athletes, and anybody who likes to be active or have physical job. It's not just about relaxation—sports massage helps you recover faster, prevent injuries, and perform better. By targeting tight muscles and improving flexibility, it enhances your range of motion and overall functionality. Regular sessions can also reduce stress levels, promote mental well-being, improve sleep and develop a stronger mind-body connection. All of which helps you tune into your body's needs and feel better. Book a session today and experience the difference it can make in your training, recovery or every day life.

All treatments are provided by our certified sport massage therapist with 15+ years of experience. While every massage session is modified based on your need, in general, the treatments are centred around sport massage techniques combined with the following additional techniques:

Both relaxing and invigorating. I really appreciated her approach to begin with an overall welcoming technique of the hands to body, warming up the body and creating relaxation, and thereafter transitioning to the deeper tissue work.
